With so much to see and do, it is clear to see why Chester Zoo is one of Cheshires top destinations for a fun filled family day out.
Families can learn all about the behaviors, habitats and conservation efforts of over 21,000 of the worlds most exotic and endangered animals within 125 acres of award winning gardens. Other highlights include the daily talks and feeding sessions where children enjoy watching animals being fed by the keepers.
A trip to the islands is recommended for families to discover the island habitats of Panay, Papua, Bali, Sumatra, Sumba and Sulawesi and find some of the world’s most magnificent wildlife, from carnivorous plants to prehistoric-looking birds. Watch out for tigers as you make your way through the bamboo forest, observe the macaques on Sulawesi, and then top your island tour off with a Lazy River Boat Trip from Sumba.
If all that exploring wasn’t enough, there are numerous play parks around the zoo with a range of equipment suitable for children of all ages. Young children will enjoy playing on the sandy beach and children of all ages will enjoy making a splash in the water play area.
For a really special treat, you could purchase one of Chester Zoos experience days, ranging from encounters with cheeky critters like the Meerkats and red pandas, to feeding the penguins and getting up close and personal with the majestic giraffes.
