Culcheth Linear Park has a rich past. Once a bustling train station linking the village with adjacent industrial towns, now little trace remains as the platform and buildings were cleared away. However, you never know, you may spot the odd clue as to its past!
Linear Park is a great place for a lazy family walk with the pooch in tow, and for tired little legs, there are several benches cleverly carved from felled trees available for a quick pit stop. Some of these felled trees have even been turned into impressive large wooden sculptures.
What was once the station yard is now a popular picnic area. This helps make a trip to the park a very cheap morning or afternoon out indeed. The perfect thing to do with kids in Cheshire on a budget!
