A family day out to Delamere Forest is a great option for a family stroll in the woodlands. This tranquil haven is prefect to help busy families relax and escape the hustle and bustle for a while.
There are a range of guided walks available, many of which are suitable for pram and wheelchair users. If you feel really adventurous you can even ride a Segway! There are three walking and two cycling trails, making Delamere Forest the perfect location for a family bike ride. On your family walk, why not take in spectacular views from several counties, including Liverpool’s famous skyline as your reward for climbing to the top of Old Pale. On your walk, you are likely to see a number of images carved into the tree trunks and nearby the Visitor Centre, there is even a carved wooden statue of the Gruffalo.
There are orienteering courses available for a range of abilities if you feel like a family team building exercise.
Whilst here, why not teach the kids all about nature by going on the hunt for some mini beasts or typical woodland wildlife. Alternatively, get those wellies on and simply enjoy splashing in those muddy puddles.
There are numerous options to park but the main car park is by the visitors centre. Access to Delamere Forest is free but parking charges do apply.

The Visitor Centre serves a selection of hot and cold refreshments and there is also a picnic area just outside. There are a number of picnic areas within Delamere Forest.
