Greater Manchester Police Museum

The museum is free to enter and open every Tuesday. Founded in 1981, the museum preserves archived police material related to the history of the Greater Manchester Police Force.

Children can learn how the uniforms have changed over time and can try on the hats. They will learn about the history of females in the police force, the development of the Great Manchester Police force, and more. Children can explore the crime room and view the transport gallery. In the second half of the museum, families can enter the police station where they will be taken into the charge office before a trip to the cells.

Volunteers are predominantly retired officers who are on hand to answer any questions you may have, and are keen to share their own experiences.

Events run throughout the year.
