Norton Priory Museum and Gardens

Looking for educational things to do with kids in Cheshire? How about the opportunity to discover 900 years of history at Norton Priory Museum and Gardens. With literally thousands of special and interesting objects, there will be something of interest to everyone. Discuss with children how Tudor shoes are different to theirs, or admire the internationally significant Medieval Statue of St Christopher. Children can even travel back in time as there’s the option to dress up, and don’t forget to explore the story bags where you will find lots of fun and games.

As well as exploring the 12th century undercroft building and priory ruins, families can visit the 2.5 acre Georgian walled garden. Complete with herb garden, rose walk and surrounded by wildflower meadows, this little gem is a perfect space for little explorers to spot wildlife (binoculars available). Perhaps you would also like to explore the surrounding woodland to discover the secret summer houses and stream glades.

Feel like an ice cream or a bite to eat? The Brooke café serves hot meals, sandwiches, refreshments and its famous Norton Priory brewery ale.
