‘Oh I do like to be beside the sea side’

‘Oh I do like to be beside the sea side’…
Then pack up the family and head to the wide, sandy beach of Kinmel Bay. The bank is pebbled but the beach is a sandy haven, ideal for building sandcastles. Take a gentle stroll down the promenade, enjoy a carousel ride or follow the cycle path for a family bike ride. There’s also an ice cream shop ideally located for a sweet treat.

Have a more active family? No problem. Some serious water sporting activities go on here, with canoeing, windsurfing, kitesurfing, and of course swimming (and paddling). Those interested in fishing can fish in Kinmel Bays harbour.

Kinmel Dunes Nature reserve lies adjacent to the promenade, with amazing views out to the Isle of Man and the Lake district on a clear, crisp day. You may even be lucky and spot some grey seals near the shore, or see the lizards scurrying around.

Families can also enjoy the multi-purpose sports hall, two squash courts and an outdoor multi-use games area.

BBQs are permitted so a visit to Kimnel Bay offers a great free day out with kids in North Wales.

Additional information:
