Talacre beach in Flintshire is an award winning beach and the kids will have a fantastic time exploring the sand dunes and going for a splash. This golden sandy beach is also home to an RSPB Nature Reserve and is a special area of Scientific interest. There is also a light house built in 1776, known locally as The Point of Ayr Lighthouse. There have been numerous ghostly sightings near the lighthouse, with reports of people claiming to see a figure wearing old fashioned lighthouse keeper clothes and standing in front of the glass dome of the now abandoned lighthouse!
There are a number of amusements, mini fairground, play area, a bowling alley and local gift shops to purchase souvenirs. There are a range of eateries or families are welcome to enjoy a picnic…. many opting to nestle between the dunes.
Talacre beach is dog friendly and so is a great place to let the kids and the pooch have a good run around. Clued in with kids members have also reported that there is plenty of space for cars and at the time of publication, the car park cost only £2 for the day (payable at the pub).
So for a free family day out in North Wales, a lazy day at Talacre Beach may be the perfect answer.
