The Moor provides a green and pleasant break from the tightly enclosed streets of the historic town. This 5.5 acre site with its open grass, wild flowers, and tree areas is situated at the side of the water and reed beds that forms the extreme southern tip of Tatton Mere. Its children’s playground, with facilities for both toddler and junior play, and relaxing atmosphere make it a popular place for visitors and residents alike.
The moor is very popular with walkers and those visiting to view the mere and moor pool and its rich birdlife, which includes reed bunting, mute swan and teal and at the very least you’ll always be able to spot a mallard duck.
Picnics are permitted with extensive ‘promenade’ seating and viewing areas across the pool.
Additional information: *Numerous paths, suitable for pram and wheelchair users. *Its small size has restricted the number of facilities in the park but an increasing number of events and activities are beginning to take place there.
