Trentham Monkey Forest is a great place to take your little monkeys! Children can walk right along side 140 free roaming Barbary Macaques on approximately three quarters of a mile walk, providing a rare opportunity to observe this endangered species go about their daily routine.
Feeding time is not to be missed, cue the squeals of delight coming from the kids as you all watch fixated on the interesting and sometimes bizarre behaviours of the macaques. Feeding talks are hourly and help explain the monkeys antics. Embark on a self guided mission around the forest and learn all about these impressive animals, how they behave in the wild, how the Macaques look after their young, their eating habits, conservation efforts and much more.
There are also two play areas for some obligatory ‘Monkeying around’, with slides, nets, climbing apparatus and balance beams and more obstacles for our little chimps to burn off the last of their energy.
Trentham Monkey gardens will really be an experience your family remembers for years to come, and so offers a great day out for kids in Staffordshire.
*Many areas are pram and wheelchair accessible though some steep slopes are present.
*You can enter as many times as you like on the date of your visit so Clued in would recommend a joint ticket also covering Trentham gardens, meaning you can come and go as you please. Please see separate listing for Trentham Gardens.
