Walton Hall and gardens always seems to be a firm favourite with Clued in with Kids members and its no surprise. For the small price to park the car, there’s so many free facilities on offer, making this a great day out on a budget. There’s also the option to enjoy other activities for a small fee.
Activities include a visit to the children’s zoo where you can see the goats, rabbits, alpacas, pigs, Guinea pigs, a ferret, donkeys, birds, squirrels and absolutely stunning peacocks. Then its all aboard the land train for a mini loop around the formal gardens. There’s also some additional rides e.g. tea cups.
There’s a variety of outdoor games including mini golf and boules, and of course there is an opportunity for a kick about due to an abundance of large and open spaces.
The play area is a generous size with separate sections for children of different age.
The walks are also divided up in terms of suitability. There is a cycle path making this a great place for a family bike ride, and dont forget to have a quick peep at the cycle museum.
Finally you could even show off your artistic talents with a bit of pottery making.
In the winter months, there is a seasonal Ice Rink for some added fun on your family day out in Cheshire.
Additional information: *Wheelchair and pram accessible but the area by the café is cobbled making this slightly trickier. *Activities that are subjected to a fee are the train ride, golf course, pottery making, and additional rides e.g. the spinning tea cups.
