A visit to Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse allows families the opportunity to learn about the industrial tales of West Cheshire. These stories are accessible to visitors in a number of ways via film, models, displays, artifacts and reconstruction, all of which relate to local industries, and give members an insight into the buildings former history.
Learn about the food provided in the workhouse, how the people lived and worked here and compare their surroundings to the recreated Masters sitting room.
A special exhibition in the former workhouse schoolroom explores life for the paupers, and younger visitors can dress up and imagine themselves as workhouse inmates learning all about the 3 Rs! Please note that exhibitions may be subject to change.
To help further develop inquisitive minds, children can challenge themselves with a workhouse quiz, and put their observations skills to the test by going on a hunt for important objects in the I-Spy trail.
