To help provide inspiration on things to do with the kids this weekend, we have added hundreds of events to our website. We have also created this blog to summarise just a handful of the events running in each area, with more being added tonight and tomorrow morning.

* Tree Climbing at Arley Hall Garden Festival

Join Arley Hall’s Garden Festival for a great family day out. This family event has lots of different activities on offer including tree climbing (additional charges apply), facepainting, childrens rides and the adventure play zone with an exciting zip wire.


* Mill Trail: Become a Factory Inspector At Quarry Bank Mill

Become a factory inspector and have a go at our family trail around the mill created by children’s author Philip Ardagh.


*Bioblitz At Macclesfield Riverside Park

*Craft And Gift Fair At Glebe Farm

Outdoor craft and gift fair.

The children can enjoy visiting the farm animals and playing on the play area. Perhaps they can even have a go at feeding the animals too.


* Kelsall Steam and Vintage Rally

22nd to 23rd June, 2019, 9.00am to 4.30pm.

It’s a great event for all ages, with Steam Engines, Vintage Tractors, Classic Cars, Vintage Motorbikes, Punch and Judy show, Fun Fair and Birds of Prey display.  There is also Tractor Pulling and a great variety of Trade Stands.

Race for Life Pretty Muddy Kids is our brilliant muddy obstacle course just for the little ones. They can take on the obstacles, crawl through the mud pit and have fun with friends, all the while helping raise valuable funds for life-saving research. Swim Safe is a FREE outdoor swimming activity from Swim England and the RNLI teaching children aged 7-14 essential water safety life skills.

The fun, 1-hour sessions are run by qualified swimming instructors and lifeguards, and include open water safety advice provided on land, up to 30 minutes in-water tuition with qualified instructors, all the right kit for swimming outdoors (including swimming hats, wetsuits and flotation equipment).
