Pumpkin picking is quickly becoming a Halloween favourite in the UK and its clear to see why. With a number of pick your own pumpkin fields pulling out all of the stops to ensure that as well as enjoying time outdoors in the fresh air learning about nature, there are also numerous activities on offer to make a fun filled family day out.
Such days out make for fantastic photos and amazing memories as you embark on your magical spooky family adventure.
IMPORTANT: With Covid cases rising and families wanting to avoid heading indoors, picking your own pumpkin could be the ideal Halloween activity.
However, please note that due to local lockdowns in North Wales, you MUST NOT CROSS COUNTY LINES. Travel into and out of various counties in North Wales is prohibited unless travel is essential. The Wirral and Liverpool are also under local lockdowns so please check guidance in these two areas before travelling.

Cockfields Halloween Pumpkin Festival 2020

Price: Adult Tickets: £ 8.95, Child Ticket: £ 12.95, Under 1s: 4.95
Description: Grab a wheelbarrow and head out to the Pumpkin Patch to choose that special Pumpkin. There’s an abundance of activities to make your day out memorable. Activities include cuddling the Bunnies & Guinea Pigs, hand feeding barn animals, Halloween Treasure Hunt with prize, unlimited rides on the Fairground Carousel, and more. Grab the perfect family picture in the Pumpkin Village and choose your perfect pumpkin and carve a scary Face. There is an outdoor Carving Area you can leave the mess. Everything is included in your Farm admission ticket.
Covid secure? Reduced capacity so online booking is essential. Facemasks to be worn in all indoor areas unless medically exempt. Due to local lockdown rules, no more than six members should book at a time and all members must be from the same household.

Delamere Farm Shop

Description: Don’t forget your wellies and enjoy some quality family time picking your own pumpkin from the pumpkin patch.
Covid secure? An abundance of space to ensure social distancing and visitors are asked to distance when paying. Face coverings to be worn in the shop. Advised to use hand sanitiser.

Garswood Pumpkin Patch – No pumpkins planted due to Covid.

Gordale Pumpkin Trail
When: Daily until 31st October until 5pm.
Where: Chester High Road, Burton, South Wirral, Cheshire, CH64 8TF
Price: £2.50 per child includes the trail and pumpkin.
Description: Find the hidden pumpkins around the store to discover the secret code word, then make your way to the PUMPKIN PATCH where you can pick your own pumpkin to take home.

Grange Farm, Lowton

Price? Dependent on pumpkin size and whether your participate in additional activities. £3 per family for admin costs to book tickets.
Description: There are thousands of home grown pumpkins available to pick direct from the pumpkin patch of all different shapes and sizes. Depending on the date you visit, you can also enjoy animal feeding, fair rides, tractor rides, and more. Visit during half term week and the carving barn will be open, fun fair will be here, and you can enjoy pizza and a range of Halloween inspired food.
Covid secure? Online booking. Social distancing in queues. Sanitiser station for wheelbarrows, masks to be worn in carving barn unless exempt, tables sanitised after each family. Fairground have completed their own risk assessment.

Description: The spooky maze will also be open (£3 / child, £2 / adult)
Tractor rides (£1.50 pp) and the miniature railway and family photoshoots are also available. Whilst here, don’t forget to burn off energy in the amazing adventure play area and go and see the farm animals like miniature horses. We also know from experience that its worth staying for lunch and definitely take your wellies!

Kenyon Hall Farm – Booking quickly
When: They’re open every day from 9am – 5.30pm until 31st October.
Where: Winwick Lane, Croft, Warrington, WA3 7ED
Prebook? Yes at £1 to £2 depending on the date.
Price: Entry to the farm, car park and all pumpkin display areas are free. Pumpkins are graded by size and cost between £2 to £10+.
Description: Having planted their first pumpkins 30 years ago, Kenyon Hall Farm boasts one of the largest Pumpkin Patches in the North of England, with 15 000 grown this year alone! There are a number of photo opportunities to help capture your special memories. The option to carve and leave the mess here is available for a small fee. The farm shop, outdoor cafe, children’s play area and toilets are all open and car parking is free. Unfortunately there won’t be other fruit or veg to pick and the maze will be closed.

Price: Maze entry is £2.00 per person. Regular pumpkins are £3.50 each. Baby pumpkins are £2.00 each. Huge, monster pumpkins are £6.50 each. Cash payments please.
Description: A well established, family run pumpkin field that has been providing families with a great day out for 10 years! Find your way through the spooky maize maze to the hidden pumpkin patch. Which pumpkin will you choose? Transport it back to your car in one of the wheelbarrows before visiting our Halloween shop and cafe. Don’t forget to bring your wellies! Dogs welcome on a lead at all times & deposits cleaned up please.
Covid secure? Parking 2m from other cars, 2m social distancing guidelines to be followed, groups of no more than 6 and must be within your household. One way system in the maze which is wide enough to allow distancing if you need to double back. Hand sanitiser and wipes advised for hands and wheelbarrows. Face coverings to be worn in indoor areas.

They’d love to see your spooky lanterns, so don’t forget to share your pictures! Children must be aged 5 and above due to the nature of the cooking activities.

Benty Farm Tearooms

Description: Take a walk through the Thurstaston woodlands to Benty Farm Tearooms PYO Pumpkins. Several different varieties of pumpkins and squash to choose from. Note: Accessibe by foot only. Orange and white pumpkins available.

Description: Bungalow Farm specialises in growing giant pumpkins and this year they are offering white pumpkins. There are also mini pumpkins available especially for the kids and mini wheelbarrows for them to cart them in. The kids will also enjoy having a ride on the pedal tractors. There is also the opportunity to take a selfie as there is a Halloween-themed photo board.

Church Farm Organics

Price: Children under 2 – FREE, Children aged 2 – 16 are £5.50 for full day tickets, and adults are £6 for full day tickets. Family tickets and half day tickets available. Pumpkins are priced between £2 to £5 whilst stocks last.
Description: This year things will be a little bit different but rest assured- there will still be lots of fun activities, friendly animals and awesome views for you to see. There is also loads to do in the farm park with pedal go-karts, buggies, tractors, adventure playground, indoor sandpit, pedal boats and more. Finally, don’t forget the scarecrow trail; find the scary scarecrows as you make your way around the farm. There are clues to find on your way and a prize for a successful completion of the trail too. The Scarecrow Trail is included in the admission price and the map also includes puzzles too!
Covid secure? Prebooked tickets to limit numbers. Some activities are closed and this has been reflected in the admission price. Masks to be worn in indoor areas.

Description: Wheelbarrows will be available in field to help with multiple/huge pumpkin gatherings. Note: Open until the last pumpkin has gone. Dogs on leads welcome but not in the pumpkin patch to ensure pumpkins don’t get an unusual added flavour!
Covid secure? Ample space to ensure social distancing can be followed. Rule of 6 applies. Masks not needed due to outside environment but visitors are welcome to wear them should they wish.

Price: No admission fee. 3 for £10 or £4 each for ANY size (as normal there is no extra for the whopper pumpkins!)
Description: There will be wheelbarrows available to load up with a variety of pumpkins, including giant pumpkins and a selection of other sizes. Refreshments are also available on site to warm you up and the venue also welcomes dogs. Bring your wellies, borrow a wheelbarrow & enjoy some pumpkin fun! Don’t forget your camera for those memorable pumpkin picking photos. Plenty of safe, off-road parking available. Toilets available on site.

Description: A whole barrel load of Pumpkin fun down on the Farm, plus a FREE pumpkin for every paying child! Take a spooky scarecrow trail through the woods and around the farm, and there’s a haunted farm area to walk through too.
Don’t miss the Halloween fancy dress competition every single day of Pumpkinfest, so don your spookiest outfits for the trip! All this pumpkin fun and all of the usual farm activities are included in the ticket price – meet the animals, play outdoors, ride behind a tractor, and have fun in our sand and water play, and role-play village. You can also see the rabbits in their new Burrowland, and hand feed the lovely goats.
